TERRORIST ATTACK IN SINDH, PAKISTAN
The Government of Malaysia strongly condemns the heinous attack of 16 February 2017 in Sindh, Pakistan that killed at least 70 and injured more than 250 innocent people. This was the latest in a series of terrorist attacks since 13 February 2017 that have struck major cities namely Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar.
The Government of Malaysia is deeply saddened with the senseless act of violence deliberately directed at civilian targets designed to inflict maximum human casualties. These attacks have claimed the lives of many innocent civilians besides injuring an equally large number of others. The Government of Malaysia hopes that the perpetrators of the despicable crime will be expeditiously brought to justice. The Government also extends its deepest condolences and sympathies to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and to the bereaved families.
So far there are no Malaysians reported involved in the incident. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia through the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Karachi will continue to monitor the situation.
