TERRORIST ATTACKS IN TEHRAN, 7 JUNE 2017
The Government of Malaysia strongly condemns the terrorist attacks in Tehran on Wednesday, 7 June 2017 at the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini and the Parliament building which claimed at least 12 innocent lives and wounded many more. So far there have been no reports of Malaysians involved in the attacks.
The Government of Malaysia extends its deepest condolences and sympathies to the Government and the People of the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as the families of people affected by these attacks. The attacks are made more tragic as it took place in the holy month of Ramadan.
Terrorism is a global scourge and the attacks in Tehran underscore once again the importance for the international community to be united in the fight against it.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia through the Embassy of Malaysia in Tehran will continue to monitor the situation.
