As part of the agenda to promote better interaction while establishing new partnerships with the local partners including the local government of Yunnan/Kunming, the New Year Get-Together Dinner was successfully held on Saturday, 22 January 2022. About 40 invitees were present at the said event that took place at the Yiming Art Center, Kunming. The Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Kunming Municipality was the VIP together with the Consul Generals from Bangladesh, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.
At the Consul General’s welcoming speech, apart from thanking the local Government and partners for their support, he shared of the agenda/new initiative for year 2022 which includes the Third Malaysia-Yunnan Higher Education Dialogue, Third Malaysia Food and Culture Festival, the Official launching of Malaysia Pavilion in Kunming, First Malaysia-Yunnan/Kunming Trade and Investment Forum and the promotion of Malaysian brand - Baba Nyonya and Durian Musang King. On that matter, he welcomed any interested parties for such collaboration in making the said initiatives a reality.
The Director of FAO Kunming in his speech expressed his sincere appreciation for the commitment and support made by the Consulate General Malaysia in Kunming towards the agenda to uplift the close-interaction between Malaysia and Yunnan/Kunming. Moreover, as Kunming aimed to be the international cities of China, the close partnership with the Consulate through the organisation of the related activities/initiatives that benefitting all parties will be welcomed.
