Roundtable discussion with the Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Kunming and the Deputy Director of Kunming Bureau of Industry and Information Technology & Dinner Reception
The said roundtable discussion was held at the Meeting Room of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Kunming on Monday, 7 March 2022 at 3.30 p.m.
The main focus of the said roundtable is to share the latest agenda concerning the related initiative/event focussing on trade, investment as well as other cooperation between Malawakil Kunming and the Kunming Government. The Director of FAO explained that, Kunming Government is keen and wishes to invite more investors to cooperate under the expansion of the Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) that has officially become a member of the World Free Zones Organization (FZO).
With the recent opening of the Kunming-Laos Railway Network and in the near future, dedicated connectivity that link-up Kunming to Singapore will be established, it is expected that Kunming City will excell to become China's strategic hub to integrate more with the SEA Region with Malaysia as part of it. In this connection, Kunming Government welcomed new partnerships particularly in the areas of new and renewable energy, tourism, education, high-technology particularly in the innovation as well as sustainable agenda including e-commerce.
