On 19 July 2017, the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco signed the “Agreement of the Partial Abolition of Visa Requirement between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco” at Wisma Putra in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
The agreement was signed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia, Dato’ Ramlan bin Ibrahim, (on behalf of the Government of Malaysia) and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Malaysia, His Excellency Mohammed Reda Benkhaldoun (on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco).
The main objective of this Agreement is to allow citizens from both countries who are in possession of a valid travel document to enter into, exit from, or transit through the territory of the other country without a visa for the purposes of official and social visits for a period of stay not exceeding ninety (90) days.
The agreement is expected to further enhance bilateral relations between the two countries by promoting more exchanges of official and social visits. It will also provide a platform to further enhance the economic, trade, investment and tourism cooperation of both countries.
This Agreement shall come into force after all requirements have been fulfilled by both countries. Holders of all Malaysian Diplomatic passports, Official passports and Standard passports will then be able to enter Morocco freely for ninety (90) days, for official or social purposes without the requirement of a visa.
