UPDATE ON THE INCIDENT IN NICE, FRANCE 15 JULY 2016


With regard to the recent incident in Nice,France, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received information that one Malaysian student, currently on an exchange programme in France, has been injured in what President Hollande has termed “an attack of an undeniable terrorist nature”.

The Ministry, through the Embassy of Malaysia in Paris, will continue to monitor the situation.

TRUCK RAMS ONTO CROWD IN NICE 15 JULY 2016 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that this far, no Malaysians were involved in the recent truck ramming incident during Bastille Day celebration in Nice, France on Thursday evening, 14 July 2016. In the incident, 80 people died and 18 were seriously injured.

The Embassy of Malaysia in Paris is in close contact with the local authorities to identify if any Malaysians were involved in the incident.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveys its deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the incident.
